Creating an active reservation for the customer’s desired dates may not always be possible, and customers may not always find their preferred timeslot available. For instance, the available timeslot may be fully booked, or the customer’s desired timeslot may not align with their preferred stay time. Under certain circumstances, you may encounter obstacles when trying to promptly modify an existing reservation in order to accommodate a customer’s request. To allow customers to book for a timeslot that is already booked, you have the option to enable the Waiting List feature in your admin dashboard. If the requested timeslot becomes available for the requested dates, the reservation may be “accepted” and the customer will receive a link for the payment. In a nutshell, the Waiting List feature enables your customers to reserve a spot during peak hours and join the waitlist. This feature can be incredibly helpful in numerous situations.
To enable the Waiting List feature, simply go to Settings, then General Settings, and select Waiting List. From there, you can enable the option.

Once the Waiting List feature is activated, customers will be able to see the already booked timeslots on the booking calendar. This gives them the chance to join a waitlist by booking these timeslots.

Customers can easily confirm their appointment without having to make a payment for the selected timeslots. Your appointment will remain in the “Waiting” status in your Appointments table.

Afterwards, a notification can be sent to them containing the payment link once the timeslot becomes available. In addition, a new event has been incorporated into the Workflow for Waiting List. This event will be activated when a previously reserved timeslot becomes available due to cancellations made by the customers who had already booked their appointments. It is important to utilize this event to effectively communicate with staff members and keep them informed about the recently released timeslot. Then, staff can assign another customer to this timeslot which is joined to the waitlist.
