Overview

The Giftcards feature in Mysched allows you to create and manage gift cards within your appointment booking system. This feature enables businesses to offer gift cards to customers, which can be redeemed for services using the prepaid balance associated with the gift card. Giftcards are a great way to incentivize purchases, offer promotions, or provide a flexible payment option for your customers.

How to Create a Giftcard

Step 1: Access the Giftcards Section

  1. Navigate to the Giftcards section in the Mysched admin panel.
  2. Click on Create Giftcard to start creating a new gift card.

Step 2: Configure the Giftcard Details

When creating a gift card, you need to configure the following details:

  • Code: Enter a unique code for the gift card. This code will be provided to the customer, and it will be required during the booking process to redeem the gift card. Ensure that the code is only shared with one customer, as it can be used only once.

  • Amount: Set the balance of the gift card. This is the total amount the customer can use when booking services. The service fee will be deducted from this balance until it is fully used.

  • Location Filter: If you want the gift card to be valid only at specific locations, select the location here. If left blank, the gift card can be used at any location.

  • Services Filter: Select specific services for which the gift card can be redeemed. If you leave this filter blank, the gift card can be applied to any service.

  • Staff Filter: You can limit the gift card to be used only for appointments with specific staff members. If left blank, the gift card can be used for any staff member.

Step 3: Save and Issue the Giftcard

Once all the fields are filled in, click Save. You can now issue the gift card by sharing the unique code with the intended customer. The customer will use this code during the booking process to pay for services.

How to Redeem a Giftcard

When customers book an appointment, they can use the gift card code during the payment step:

  1. Booking Process: After selecting the service and staff, the customer will proceed to the payment step. Here, they will be prompted to enter the gift card code.

  2. Balance Deduction: The service fee will be deducted from the balance of the gift card. If the balance on the gift card is sufficient to cover the entire cost, no further payment will be required. If the gift card balance is lower than the service fee, the customer will need to pay the remaining balance using other payment methods.

  3. Giftcard Expiration: If you wish, you can specify an expiration date for the gift card during creation. After this date, the gift card will no longer be valid.

Tracking Giftcard Usage

The Giftcards section also provides a comprehensive tracking system to monitor gift card usage:

  • Usage History: For each gift card, you can view a detailed history that shows when and how it was used. This includes information about which appointments were paid for using the gift card, how much balance remains, and the customer who redeemed it.

  • Balance Monitoring: You can check the remaining balance on any active gift cards and see how much of the original balance has been used.

Example Use Cases

  1. Holiday Promotions: Offer gift cards as part of a holiday promotion, allowing customers to purchase services in advance or give them as gifts to friends and family.

  2. Loyalty Rewards: Use gift cards as a loyalty reward for returning customers. You can issue a gift card to loyal customers, encouraging them to continue booking appointments.

  3. Staff-Specific Promotions: If a staff member is running a special promotion, you can create a gift card that is valid only for their services, helping to drive bookings for that staff member.
