SMS Notifications
Overview
Mysched allows you to send SMS notifications to your customers and staff, keeping them informed about appointments and any changes in real-time. This system enhances communication with your clients and improves the overall service quality you provide. Unlike email notifications, SMS notifications offer instant and direct communication, making it easier to reach clients who may not check their emails frequently.
It’s important to note that tenants using Mysched do not need to provide their own phone numbers for sending SMS notifications. All SMS messages are sent from Mysched’s pre-configured phone number, ensuring a seamless and reliable notification system. Twilio or Amazon SNS integrations are not required for tenants to use SMS notifications.
Key Use Cases for SMS Notifications
1. Sending SMS Notifications for New Appointments
When a customer books a new appointment on your website or your booking panel, an automatic SMS notification can be sent to the customer to confirm their booking. This immediate confirmation reassures the customer that their appointment has been successfully scheduled. You can also configure the system to send an SMS notification to the relevant staff member or admin to keep them informed about new bookings.
2. Sending SMS Notifications for Rescheduled Appointments
If a customer reschedules an appointment through the Customer Panel, or if a staff member changes the appointment details from the admin panel, Mysched will automatically send an SMS notification to both the customer and the staff member. This ensures that all parties are aware of the updated appointment details and helps avoid any confusion or missed appointments.
3. Sending SMS Notifications for Canceled or Status-Changed Appointments
When a customer cancels an appointment or changes its status via the Customer Panel, Mysched will notify both the customer and relevant staff members via SMS. Similarly, if a staff member cancels or updates the status of an appointment from the admin panel, an SMS notification can be sent to inform the customer. You can use filters to tailor these notifications based on the previous and current status of the appointment. For example, if a customer cancels an approved appointment, Mysched will automatically send a cancellation notification to the appropriate individuals.
4. Sending SMS Reminders Before Appointments
You can configure Mysched to send SMS reminders to customers before their appointments. For instance, you may want to send a reminder 1 hour before the appointment starts, helping to reduce no-shows and ensuring that customers are reminded in time. This type of notification helps improve customer satisfaction by keeping them informed without the need for additional effort on your part.
5. Sending SMS Follow-ups After Appointments
Mysched can also send SMS notifications after an appointment has ended. You can use this feature to send a thank-you message, request feedback, or promote future services. For instance, sending an SMS 30 minutes after the appointment can be a great way to gather valuable feedback or encourage repeat bookings.
6. Sending SMS Notifications for New Customer Registrations
When a new customer creates an account on your booking platform, an SMS notification can be sent to welcome them. If the customer’s account is created through the Customer Panel, Mysched will automatically generate a random password and send it to the customer via SMS (if this feature is enabled in your settings). This ensures a smooth onboarding process and helps customers quickly access their accounts.
Using SMS Notifications with Workflows
Mysched’s Workflow module allows you to automate SMS notifications based on different triggers and conditions. By configuring workflows, you can send SMS messages at key moments, such as when an appointment is booked, rescheduled, canceled, or about to start.
You can also use the Workflow module to customize your SMS notifications based on the specific needs of your business. For example, you might want to send different messages depending on the appointment status or based on specific filters such as service type or staff member.
Configuring SMS Notifications in Workflows:
- New Appointment Added: Automatically send an SMS confirmation to the customer and staff when a new booking is made.
- Appointment Rescheduled: Notify both the customer and staff when an appointment is rescheduled through the Customer Panel or Admin Dashboard.
- Appointment Status Changed or Canceled: Trigger an SMS notification when the status of an appointment is updated, such as when a customer cancels a booking.

- Follow-up After Appointment: Send an SMS after the appointment ends to thank the customer or request feedback.
